Abstract: To simple yet practical coal washability-curve mathematical models have been developed.One is the fractal theory-based cumulative ash-separating density model while the other is the cumulative yield-cumulative ash model established through polynomial fitting. When used in combination,the 2 models can replace the washability curve for calculating the various theoretical separation indices in coal gravity separation process. This is of great significance for the direct estimation of theoretical indices in coal separation.
