Abstract: In order to tackle the problems relating to the presence of a large quantity of coal slime and the higher ash of the clean coal magnetic tailings,an investigation is conducted into the feasibility of making separation of the coarse slime through laboratory separation experiment and analysis.Study result shows that separation of the clean coal slime using 3-cone water-only hydrocyclone can lead to a reduction of the ash of the coarse slime from 15 percent to below 9.5 percent and an increase of composite clean coal yield by 1.525 percent,and yield a remarkably favorable economic benefit.
