Abstract:
In order to explore the feasibility of rewashing the middling product of the plant, an analysis is made of the effect that can be obtained by reducing through crushing the size of middlings to be rewashed down to 13 mm or below 6 mm—2 different technical methods currently adopted both within and abroad. Result of float-and-sink analysis and data comparison show that a maximum yield of clean coal can be obtained in the case of rewashing the middlings at a feed size of < 6 mm. Thus, it is decided to adopt the scheme of direct rewashing crushed middlings using 2-product heavy medium cyclone. Implementation of the scheme has led to an increase of clean coal yield by 12, 400 tons per year, greatly improving, as a result, the economic performance of the plant.
