Abstract: Following an elaboration on the influence on the coal industry against the backdrop of achieving the goals of peaking carbon dioxide emissions and reaching carbon neutrality, the paper presents a general survey of the fragmental view points and issues that have aroused general interest in the coal preparation sector over the recent years. Based on analysis of the challenges to and opportunities for the coal preparation and processing and clean coal utilization related sectors, the focal points on which effects should be focused in the design of coal preparation plants are proposed. Finally, a prediction is made of the prospects in high-quality development of the coal preparation industry.
