Abstract
In order to make it possible to make evaluation on a quantitative basis of the level of comprehensive utilization of the iron ore resources in ore concentrated areas,a multi- factor and multi- index evaluation system has been developed in line with the current ore exploitation situation. The system involves 5 units and 13 indexes, including geological, mining, ore dressing,as well as intergrown and associated minerals utilization and economic related indicators. After the weight of each evaluation index is determined, the level of comprehensive utilization of iron ore resources in each of China’s 4 typical iron ore concentrated areas is evaluated using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. The results obtained indicate that the ore recovery rate is by far the most important factor affecting the level of comprehensive utilization of iron ore resources. Then comes the utilization rate of intergrown and associated minerals, followed by percentage of ore concentrate recovery and then by rate of output value in comprehensive utilization. It is found that the above mentioned 4 districts, vary in level of comprehensive utilization of iron ore resources and each district has its specific insufficiencies. To tackle with the problems encountered in each instance, rational proposals are proposed in the paper.
