Analysis of the technological processes for separation of coarse slime and their field application

For a number of coal preparation plants,high- efficiency cleaning of coarse slime has become a key link for the increase of the yield of clean coal,and how to make rational selection of the cleaning processes according to properties of raw coal is a pressing matter and needs to be dealt with at once in coal preparation design work. Following an analysis of the source and characteristics of raw coal,and an overview of the coarse slime cleaning processes widely used in China,the paper presents a systematic summary of the distinctive features of the processes involving the use of heavy- media cyclone,spiral separator,teetered- bed separator（ TBS） and water- only cyclone,and an analysis of the performances of the above-cited typical processes in domestic coal cleaning plants.
