For further enhancing the organic sulfur removal efficiency, a study is made of the effect of radiation time and power on desulfurization rate in the case of using one kind of wave alone, and especially of the law governing the combined effect of such factors when 2 kinds of waves are used in combination. As evidenced by test result, the use of either kind of wave can yield a remarkable effect and the combined use of 2 kinds of waves works with an efficiency much higher than that in case of using either kind of wave alone. Under the optimum conditions when ultrasonic wave works with a radiation time of 70 min. and a power of 240 W and microwave works with a radiation time of 30 min. and a power of 600 W, a best desulfurization result can be obtained. In this case, the desulfurization rate is as high as 78.60%.
