Study of effect on performance of flotation of Taixi anthracite coal exerted by change of reagents and particle surface modification

The economic performance of the plant is adversely affected by the poor performance in flotation of the oxidized anthracitic fine coal because of deterioration of its flotatability. Experimental test is made on the method for the improvement of the flotability of oxidized anthracite coal with Taixi anthracite coal as the object of study. The methods used involve the selective use of reagents produced both at home and abroad and mechanical removal of the layer of oxide for partical surface modification. Test result indicates that no noticeable improvement of flotation performance of such coal can be expected through the change of reagents,and the use of the latter method can produce a remarkable result as evidenced by the noticeable increase of yield of concentrate.
