    Optimized design of the froth skimming mechanism of XJM-(K) S series flotation cell

    • In order to improve the performance and increase the capacity of the XJM-(K) S series flotation cell,a study is made on the relationship between key parameters and capacity of froth scraper mechanism using statistical approach and mathematical calculation method,and based on the result of study,a mathematical model of the capacity of the scraper mechanism is developed.Result of study shows that:the froth scraping mechanism of the XJM-(K) S20 cell is most rationally designed,which can skim off a volume of 21 m3 of froth per hour with a capacity of 0.084 m3/m per unit length and a froth skimming area/cell area ratio of 8.63.The capacity of the scraping mechanism can be further enhanced through increasing the value(s) of one or more key parameters; the flowability of froth exerts a great bearing on flotation performance and capacity,and the froth flowability can be improved through increasing skimming radius or angle.The research-derived accomplishments provide a theoretical basis for the structural design and optimization of the froth scraping mechanism of the XJM-(K) S series flotation cell.
