Abstract
Following a static analysis of the stability of the split-type frame assembly for supporting the large-sized sizing crusher for use underground using finite element method,a 3D model of the frame is developed with the software,which is then imported into ANSYS Workbench for making static analysis.The deformation and strains to which the frame assembly is subjected are calculated for verification of the strength of the frame assembly.It is found that the maximum stress to which the frame assembly is subjected is 156 MPa which is much less than the frame material’s ultimate strength of 235 MPa.The result of the study provides a theoretical support for the design of split framework.
