Effect of magnetization on process of flotation of weakly-coking coal

    • The flotation of weakly-coking coal with conventional flotation process and reagent is relatively poor in performance. To solve this problem, following a detailed analysis of the structural characteristics of such coal and the state-of-art of application of magnetization technology in flotation process, the scheme for enhancing the floatability of weakly-coking coal with the use of magnetized water is selected. Result of flotation using this method indicates that, under the effect of magnetization the contact angle between coal and water is increased, leading, as a result, to the improvement of hydrophobicity of weakly-coking coal and the rise of yield of clean coal by 1.1 percentage point.
