    Development and application of the XJM-S90 flotation machine

    • The key technical parameters of the XJM-S90 flotation machine are designed using similarity scale-up method. It is found through CFD analog simulation that the cells' flow field assumes a “W” pattern in the separation region and exhibits a high-gradient characteristics. The calculated impeller displacement is 8 284.36 m3/h, 3.77 times the volume of feed pulp flow. Test with freshwater indicates that the aeration rate is 0.814 m3/(m2·min) with an aeration uniformity coefficient of 83.97%. The machine is now in successful operation at Shuozhong Coal Preparation Plant. Result of industrial test shows that the concentrate yield is 61.64% with its ash reduced by 12.54 percentage points, and the pulp throughput per unit volume is as high as 6.23 m3/(m3·h), demonstrating a remarkable flotation performance.
