Exploration of the optimum process for intensive cleaning of fine coal at Tangshan Mine Coal Preparation Plant

    • For realizing high-efficiency treatment of fine coal, exploration is made of the optimum process for intensive cleaning of fine coal based on an analysis of size and density characteristics of magnetic separation tailings of clean coal, middling and refuse products as well as the mixed underflow of middling and refuse medium draining screens. Test result indicates that the fine coal fails to get adequately separated through the primary H.M. cyclone; after being classified at a size of 0.25 mm, the > 0.25 mm size of the clean coal magnetic tailings can be recovered as clean coal product; and the > 0.125 mm magnetic tailings of middling and refuse can be rewashed to recover some clean coal. Based on the above-going findings, an optimum separation process is proposed: 2-stage classification of clean coal magnetic separation tailings for recovery of > 0.25 mm clean coal and rewashing of the > 0.125 size using H.M. cyclone.
