    Experimental study of a new-type 2-product dense medium cyclone

    • In order to make up the deficiencies of the H.M. cyclone, a structurally innovative 2-product version is proposed based on the basic research work previously made by researchers on multiphase flow in heavy medium cyclone. As evidenced by test conducted with a testing system, the inherent deficiencies of the traditional heavy medium cyclones have been thoroughly remedied. The development of the overflow tube of the unique design makes it possible to reduce the turbulent flow and the adverse effect of the intermediate air column in the cyclone, attributing to, therefore, not only improved separation precision but also reduced enersy consumption.
