    A study of the application of the “TFW” process in plants specifically designed for treating coarse power coal only

    • With the change of coal market and rising demand for environmental protection, the coarse power coal treating plants call for the upgrading of the small coal product. Based on the recently developed coal preparation technologies, a noval process comprising of dry cleaning, fine coal removal and wet cleaning operations is developed. In this process, use is made of the TDS intelligent dry cleaning machine for dry cleaning and shallow-bath heavy medium separator for wet cleaning. After removal of the fine coal at a size of 6 mm, the > 50 mm raw coal is treated by TDS while the 50~6 mm coal is treated by shallow-bath heavy medium separator. The operation of the process has met with great success at Harvsu Coal Preparation Plant. This provides a new idea for upgrading the products of the plants where only coarse power coal is treated with the use of shallow-bath heavy medium separator.
