Air flow characteristics of the dewatering centrifuge and control of dust hazards

    • In order to solve the problem of pollution caused by coal dust emitted from the centrifugal dewatering system, a ventilation network formed with centrifuge as the air source and its associated equipment as connection pipes. Then the airflow characteristics of the entire system and the factors attributing to the escape of coal dust are explored through field measurement and observation. Study result shows the pollution stems from the escape of coal dust from the system as a result of the presence of emission channels leading to atmosphere and the positive pressure inside the system. An integrated dust control scheme of making splitting of airflow at front end, and setting check plate and induced draft fan is proposed. Practice shows the adoption of the scheme has met with desired result.
