    Prospect of application of the air-film domed concrete silo for coal storage in power plant

    • In order to cater to the need of Taizhou Power Plant for expanding coal storage volume, a comparative analysis is made of the coal storing modes of 4 different coal storage facilities—strip-typed stockyard, circular stockyard, silo and air-film domed-roof concrete silo.The latter is of air-film concrete structure, which is a novel structural form derived through improvement of construction technology.It offers the special features of being totally enclosed and the coal moves on a first-in first-out basis.It is far superior to the strip-type and circular-type stockyards in terms of operating safety and environmental protection, and its construction cost is much lower than ordinary silo.This kind of silo is an optimum selection for coal storage in power plants.
