    Exploration of the methods for reducing consumption of flotation agent at Matou Coal Washery

    • For further reducing consumption of flotation agent, Matou Coal Washery has adopted a series of effective and workable methods based on result of extensive exploration, which include, among others, technical transformation, increase of capacities of process equipment, optimization of process, making routine technical and economical checking against set standards, and improvement of flotation process and operation system. Through adoption of these methods, the east and the west flotation systems are both working remarkably well with a combined pulp throughput of 2, 000 m3/h, a concentrate ash of 10.00%~11.00% and an ash of tailings of above 65.00%. The consumption of flotation agent per ton of concentrate produced is drastically reduced from 0.5 kg in 2016 to 0.36 kg in 2019, which can even further for drop down to 0.33 kg in the case of treating a feed with a favorable property. The adoption of the methods has led to improved economic result.
