    Experimental study on sedimentation and filter aid of high-muddy coal slurry of coal preparation plant

    • The presence of the highly degradable coal in slurry water makes the latter very difficult to undergo sedimentation. For treating the highly sticky slurry, the plate-and-frame filter press generally operates with a long cycle time and a low efficiency due to the difficulty in dewatering of such a material, which seriously restricts the normal operation of the plant. In order to tackle the problems involved in the treatment of such a kind of slurry water in coal preparation plant, test on slurry sedimentation is made with the use of filter aids based on the analysis of the property of the coal slurry water and in line with the specific conditions of Wenjiapo Coal Preparation Plant. As evidenced by result of industrial test and economic analysis, the study may serve as a theoretical reference basis for solving the problems in the treatment of coal slurry water of coal preparation plants.
