Study on flotability of the slime of Binhu Coal Preparation Plant

In order to explore the flotability of the Binhu Plant's coal slime, extensive work is made, including screening analysis of flotation feed, batch-flotation test, timed-release analysis, laboratory flotation test using flotation column, flotation feed size composition analysis, analysis of effect of dosage of agent on flotation performance, as well as comparison of performances of flotation cell and flotation column under identical angent dosing conditions. Test result shows that: the slime is moderately flotable at a specified concentrate ash of 8.0%; at a dosage of collector of 600 g/t and a dosage of frother of 600 g/t, the use of flotation cell can produce a best result; and in the case that flotation cell and flotation column are required to produce a concentrate product with the same ash, the latter is superior to the former in performance.
