    Improvement and optimization of the heavy medium separation system of Taiyuan Coal Preparation Plant

    • Following an analysis of the problems encountered by Taiyuan Coal Preparation Plant in actual coal cleaning operation, the paper goes to elaborate on the renovation of the palnt's existing coal cleaning systems. The renovation work involves mainly addition of raw coal desliming process, coarse slime separation link, increase of capacity of heavy medium separation system and introduction of medium suspension split flow automatic control system. Through renovation, the plant is now operating with a combined processes formed up by raw coal desliming process, coarse coal 3-product H.M. cyclone separation process, coarse slime CSS separation process and fine coal flotation process.
