    A study of arrangement mode of double medium inlets of heavy medium cyclone and its effect on cyclone′s separation performance

    • Following a brief introduction to the important role played by H. M. cyclone nowadays in clean utilization of coal, as well as the state-of-the-art and application of such cyclones, the paper goes to analyse particularly on the energy consumptions and variation of flow fields at different arrangement modes of medium suspension inlets obtained through CFD-based numerical simulation technology. Study result shows that the separation energy consumption, separating sharpness and treating capacity of the H.M.cyclone with 2 medium inlets vary with the change of arrangement angle of the inlets; and when the 2 inlets are symmetrically arranged at an angle of 180°, a relatively optimum separation result can be expected. The study result provides a technical support for further optimization of this coal separation technology.
