Abstract
In order to explore the feasibility of making pretreatment of wastewater produced in coal-to-oil process through adsorption with raw coal, work is made on the optimization of adsorption conditions as well as the effect on adsorption efficiency produced by multi-stage series adsorption processes.Test result shows that with an addition of 12.5 g of<0.074mm pulverized coal and an adsorption time of 30 minutes, the removal rates of CODcr, ammonia nitrogen and volatile phenol are 36.97%, 28.92% and 38.77% respectively; after the 4-stage tandem adsorption process, the removal rates of the above-mentioned pollutants are seen to go up to 86.01%, 69.05% and 88.78% respectively; and after adsorption, the functional groups on coal surface show no noticeable changes. It proves to be a potential process with good application prospects for pretreatment of such wastewater.
