    Optimization of the high-efficiency graded slime dewatering process for upgrading fine coal slime

    • A new process for dewatering classified fine coal slime is proposed.The screen-bowl dewatering centrifuge incorporates the special merits of both the basket and solid-bowl centrifuges.Through design and selection of equipment and operating parameters, the process can perform both sizing and dewatering functions to reduce the ash and moisture of coarse slime for improved specifications while the fine slime retained through classification is sent to quick-open membrane press for final dewatering and recovery.The process is highly adaptable to variation of ash and size of slime feed and its use can make it possible to utilize the dewatered fine coal products according to quality, curtail initial capital cost, and improve economic indicators of dewatering operation.The proposed process proves to be a new solution for upgrading of fine coal dewatering process and also a new option for selection by both existing and new coal preparation plants.
