Experimental study on fine classification of magnetosphere from coal flyash

    • The magnetosphere produced through magnetic separation of flyash not only varies in Fe content but also fluctuates widely in physiochemical property. Analysis is made of the physiochemical properties of the magnetosphere products of different sizes and densities obtained through combined classification with screen set and shaking table. Through classification 4 different graded products in sizes of > 75, 75~58, 58~38, < 38 μm are obtained, which have each an ash content of 22.48%, 38.07%, 46.03% and 52.44%, indicating that the smaller the size, the higher the Fe content becomes. After resizing of the < 38 μm size through tabling, three groups of the products with different densities are produced with their Fe contents being 47.49%, 64.34% and 71.43% respectively showing that the Fe content tends to increase with increase of density. Test result shows that fine grading of flyash magnetosphere through sizing and tabling combined process can yield a Fe-enriched magnetosphere product, beneficial to its utilization as a high-value material.
