    Study and application of the technology for the control of spontaneous combustion of refuse heap using flyash

    • Grouting method is used to control spontaneous combustion of refuse heap using basic flyash as main grouting material. The drilling pattern is determined according to the extent of the fire area specified by boreholes. Field observation shows that after grouting the temperature in grouting holes drops down to 80 ℃ and the vegetation grows well on refuse heap. Application of the fire control technology makes it possible to control the fire hazard caused by waste material by making full use of waste flyash, and bring about favorable environmental and economic benefits.
