    Study on structural design of the split-type bell-shaped cowl of vertical scraper-discharge centrifuge

    • Based on analysis of the wearing pattern of the bell-shaped cowl and the causes leading to the wear, as well as the working principle and structural characteristics of the scraper-discharge centrifuge, a split-type cowl is developed. The stability of the cowl is verified through finite-element analysis (FEA) using the FEA model. Furthermore, the effect of fitting-up on dynamic balance and the dynamic balance of the assembled cowl are investigated through test. The cowl developed offers the merits of being low in operating cost and is easy to replace. The study made provides a reference for the design of split-type wearing parts of centrifuge.
