Application of the intelligent coal blending system at Wangpo Coal Preparation Plant

The mixed coal product of Wangpo Coal Preparation Plant of Tiandi Coal Co. Ltd., Shanxi Province, fluctuates frequently and widely in quality. For ensuring product quality consistency and improving economic performance, the online ash and moisture monitors, NC coal Proportioning device and the coal mixer are added, and the coal blending-expert automation system and data base are developed, in line with the plant's existing coal cleaning processes and operating conditions, so as to realize intelligent coal blending operation. Practice shows that the blending system can maintain reliable and smooth operation; the monitored ash and moisture values are in good agreement with the analytical values with a deviation up to the required accuracy; and the quality indices of the blended coal can be effectively controlled thanks to the possibility to mix the small raw coal, small clean coal and middlings in an accurate manner.
