    Measures adopted for prevention of spontaneous combustion of storage bunker

    • For preventing spontaneous combustion of bunker-stored coal, a study is made by Pojianghaizi Coal Preparation Plant on spontaneous combustion of low-rank coal including its mechanism, process, required conditions, influential factors and potential hazards that can be incurred. On the basis of the study results and in line with the specific operating conditions of the plant, a series of effective approaches for avoiding the combustion-induced hazards are adopted, such as practice of the system of making cyclic discharge of bunkered coal, addition of alarm device and clearing of bunkers on a regular basis. The study made in the paper provides a theoretical reference and practical experience for prevention of spontaneous combustion of bunker-stored low-rank coal and ensuring safety operation.
