Application of intelligent control technology in fine coal flotation process control

For intensifying the integrated application of artificial intelligence(AI) and automatic control technology in coal flotation sphere for obtaining an improved slime flotation result, the paper presents a summary of the flotation process control technologies currently available from three aspects: classification of flotation process control variables, prediction of flotation process and design of intelligent control systems. Following an analysis of the flotation process control modeling technologies and the state-of-the-art of the work so far made on intelligent control technologies both within and abroad, prime cases in application of intelligent control system in slime flotation are cited. Result of analysis shows that to become fully intelligentized, the intelligent control systems currently applied are insufficient in technology. It is suggested that in the future more work needs to be directed toward the development of new modeling technologies and more accurate, less complicated and better interpretable algorithms.
