    Practice of coal product quality management under the impact brought on by occurrence of natural coke

    • In order to reduce the adverse effect on coal product quality brought on by the natural coke incurred in the mining area, Jining Qiwu Coal Co.Ltd. conducted an investigation into the cause of occurrence and properties of natural coke in line with the geological conditions of the mining area and the major indicators of coal product required by the coking sector. Apart from making well-organized mining operations according to the principle of making overall plans and taking all factors into consideration, with the efforts centered on stabilization of output, quality and supply of coal product, as well as strengthening wide publicity of natural coke-related knowledge, other technical measures including mining of coal and natural coke in proportionate manner, blending of coal with the natural coke separately hoisted to surface and washing of coal and natural coke in a blended manner, are also adopted by the mining company. Through adoption of the above going measures, the quality indices of the coke product is stabilized under the conditions that the quality indices of cleaned coal product is adversely affected by the occurrence of natural coke in the mining area. Test data shows what the strength of the coke product lies between the levels of grade Ⅰ and grade Ⅱ, and obtained the coke yield over 65 percent points. Implementation of the coal quality management mode has led to stabilized quality of coal product and is beneficial to rational exploitation and untilization of coal and its associated materials.
