    Study on reduction of consumption of flotation agents and field practice conducted at Handan Coal Preparation Plant

    • In order to improve flotation performance and reduce consumption of agents, analysis is made by Handan Plant to explore the crucial factors influencing the fine coal flotation effects and the optimum dosages of agents at different collector/frother ratios, by means of orthogonal experimental design and test on dosages of agents. As indicated by results of industrial flotation test conducted based on laboratory test result, the ratio of the two kinds of agents and the dosage of frother are the two most influencial factors among the others; while maintaining the same yield rate of concentrate product, a reduced ratio can lead to less consumption of agents; and at a collector/frother ratio of 8∶1, a highest yield of flotation concentrate can be obtained. Through the renovation work, there has been seen a cut of consumption of agents per ton of raw fine coal treated by 0.07 kg, a rise of ash of flotation tailing by 5 percentage points and an increase of yield rate of flotation concentrate by 0.327 percentage points.
