    Practice of optimization of product structure at Yima Mining Area's coal preparation plants

    • Because of production of only clean power coal, the enterprise used to operate with an unfavorable economic performance due to generally a low selling price of the product. To deal with this situation, work is made by Yima Coal(Group) Co. Ltd. on in-depth exploration of the distribution of types and properties of the coal produced in the mining area. Based on exploration result, the coal preparation plant of each mine has its product structure readjusted and optimized according to the market demands for both chemical and metallurgical use and the principle of being practical and realistic and market oriented, and allowing each mine and each coal preparation plant to adopt its own appropriate washing scheme to improve the mix of product. For instance, the Gengcun Mine's coal preparation plant has turned into a chemical and power coal production center through adoption of the whole-size-range coal washing scheme; the same washing scheme is now applied at Xin'an Mine's coal preparation plant to produce pulverized coal for injection in blast furnace and quality chemical and power coal; and the newly-built coal preparation plant of Mengjin Mine can produce quality chemical coal and coal for use in BF pulverized coal injection using the similar washing process. Through optimization of product structure, all the plants in the mining area have become high value-added chemical and metallurgical coal producers instead of producers of power coal only, leading to not only increase of sales volume but also improvement of economic performance.
