Study and practice of the methods for reduction of medium consumption at Xinjulong Coal Preparation Plant

In order to tackle the problem regarding the rise of consumption of medium caused by variation of raw coal property, a thorough analysis is made of the raw coal property and the factors contributing to the high consumption of medium. Based on result of analysis, a series of measures such as stricter control of quality of received magnetite powder, ensuring thorough predisliming of raw coal, strengthening management of medium-draining screens, improvement of efficiency of magnetic separator and change of medium adding mode. Practice shows that adoption of these measure has led to decrease of medium consumption by 0.15 kg, a save of capital cost of 620 000 yuan a year, yielding therefore a favorable composite economic benefit for the plant.
