State-of-the-art and future outlook of the work on pneumatic cleaning of coal

Following an introduction to the courses of the development of such coal dry cleaning technologies as composite separator, air table, air jig, vibrating counter-flow separator and vibrating spiral separator, as well as their respective working principle technical features and applicability, the paper goes to elaborate an the knotty problems and straits involved in the endeavour to effect high-efficiency and clean utilization of coal using the dry cleaning technologies against the backdrop of achieving the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. It points out that the future development of the dry cleaning technologies should be directed toward the following aspects: further extending down the lower size limit of separation, improving separation sharpness, enhancing adaptability to variation of surface moisture of raw coal treated and developing intelligent dry cleaning process. The study made in the paper provides a solution to the problems encountered in coal cleaning and processing under the new scenarions.
