    Study and application of the intelligent agent dosing system in coal slurry water treatment process

    • Coal slurry water treatment is a key link in coal preparation process. In order to address the problems of the manually operated agent dosing system applied by Wangpo Coal Preparation Plant, such as instability in concentration of agent prepared, strong reliance on experience of operators, delay in making adjustment, and low operating efficiency, the existing dosing system is turned into an intelligent one through technical transformation, based on result of analysis of the current slurry water treatment conditions. Through design of the filter aid and flocculant dosing units, application of various measuring instruments to monitor key operating parameters, and improvement of control scheme, the slurry water treatment system has now been made possible to maintain a high-efficiency operation. Practice shows that the dosing system can work stably in an unattended manner, making it possible to dispense with three operations; the thickener has seen increases in thickening efficiency and underflow solids yield by 2.19 percentage points and by 0.76 percentage points, respectively; the time for feeding the filter press is cut by 500 s per shift; the consumptions of flocculant and filter aid are decreased by 8.56% and 10.25%, respectively; and the rate of accidents in operation has been reduced. Application of the intelligent system can save the labor, electrical and material costs by 0.87 million yuan per year, creating a noticeably favorable economic benefit for the plant.
